Information
BSOC's fifth album circles around pieces originally written in the early 2000s for a theatre project — mainly the German-language songs, but also BURN MY WINGS and WHERE IS THE MONEY date from that period.
Musically, after the guitar-heavy sound of its predecessor TINY ISLAND BLUES, the 80s roots come through more strongly again — in the dark new wave of LET'S NOT LOSE... and TABORI, or the electropunk of DAS HALTET IHR AUS, SURRENDER and MESSINGTOPF. Alongside that, there are more electronic sounds again (GESTURES, WALTZ) and some rather experimental tracks, especially in the final third.
And it wouldn't be complete without a bit of indie rock: ANNALISA and THE EASIEST PART sound like they were channeled straight from the 90s — which, for EASIEST PART, is actually true: at least the music dates back to 1995...
And as the subtitle PART ONE suggests, there's more where this came from. But that will take a little more time. Curtain up for THEATRE OF LOVE.
